Diabetes
Diabetes is a disease that impairs the body’s ability to breakdown and process carbohydrates which is directly linked to the production of the hormone insulin. Carbohydrates are broken down in the body into something called glucose which is what the human body uses for fuel.
While some forms of diabetes are hereditary all of them can be treated naturally with improved diet and exercise. Taken from Harvard School of Medicine’s own website, “The benefits of exercise can’t be overstated. Exercise helps control weight, lower blood pressure, lower harmful LDL cholesterol and triglycerides, raise healthy HDL cholesterol, strengthen muscles and bones, reduce anxiety, and improve your general well-being. There are added benefits for people with diabetes: exercise lowers blood glucose levels and boosts your body’s sensitivity to insulin, countering insulin resistance.”
Healthy Habits for Diabetes

In studies named on the Harvard School of Medicines website exercise affects diabetes and related diseases in the following ways:
- Women with diabetes who spent at least 4 hours weekly doing light to moderate exercise had a 40% lower risk of heart disease
- Resistance training, as well as aerobic-based, exercises both helped reduce insulin resistance in elderly diabetes patients who were at high risk for heart disease
- People with diabetes who walked at least two hours a week were drastically less likely to die of heart disease than their sedentary counterparts.
- All forms of exercise dramatically increased patients’ insulin sensitivity thus reducing the symptoms of their diabetes.

I’ve included articles, research, best practices for better diabetes prevention.
Complete Your Routine
Because our bodies produce a matrix of hormones, neurotransmitters, as well as numerous body processes throughout that day, optimal health is best achieved when all of these factors remain in good balance with one another. Certain food supplements in addition to your diet can help encourage the body to balance these factors which can indirectly lead to a better, more restful night’s sleep. With changes in our dietary intake in the last few centuries, many necessary nutrients are easily left out of our food intake which is where supplements can help ‘take up the slack’.
Despite the advancements in dietary supplements in the last few years, unfortunately, there are still many less than reputable companies bottling up supplements that are less than effective and some that can even be counterproductive. The most important factors are that your supplements are pure, with no binders or fillers, and are produced in a fashion that allows the body to easily assimilate them for the best effect.
At Jivanam Nutrition, we believe backward is the new forward. Drawing from the wisdom of ancient cultures we have meticulously crafted each formulation with the purest possible ingredients.
