Jivanam Nutrition Was Born Because I’d Had Enough
- Enough of mourning unnecessary deaths.
- Enough of seeing my loved ones suffer from preventable and manageable diseases.
- Enough of having to deal with ineffective, unnecessary, and expensive conventional medicine.
- And enough of being and feeling helpless.
Hi, My Name is Ayesha
Born and raised in India, I moved into the United States as a young mother and wife, with 2 children, a lovely husband, and not much else.
We tried our best to embrace our new home. It was hard, but after meeting many wonderful people and seeing the boundless opportunities, we knew it was worth it.
But after a few years, I had to go back to India to care for my diabetic father.
He was a thoughtful farmer who tended his land with protection and love. He was an introspective man with a kind word for everyone. He sang like a nightingale and could fix anything. My parents had always lived and loved a simple life in the village.

Without enough knowledge about the disease in rural India, we felt helpless. We watched as he slowly succumbed to his illness and there was nothing we could do – or so we thought.
I came back to the States and brought my mother with me.
She settled in to being a doting grandmother to my kids, volunteering in the community, strengthening her faith, worshipping in Church, and crafting masterpieces from her sewing machine.
It came suddenly. The doctors told me she didn’t have much time, and that chemotherapy and radiation was the only alternative we have, and we’d have to do it immediately. I felt like a robot operating in a daze. I signed this, said yes to that and didn’t ask very much about the other.
She was dead in 3 months flat.
I was shattered.
Soon, I had to watch many of my uncles, aunties, and cousins die from common diseases that seemed so treatable, preventable, or even manageable.
I was getting tired of being so helpless and not knowing what to do.
What was supposed to be a simple kidney operation for my husband turned into something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
He was tossed around like a ball from one hospital to another, bounced from doctor to doctor, and yet no one could tell me exactly what was going on.
While in the hospital, he suffered a heart attack and then got pneumonia.
One day he coughed so much that couldn’t catch his breath.
Eventually, he died of asphyxiation.
None of It Made Sense – and I’d Had Enough.
I became single-minded on a mission to learn everything I could about modern-day medicine, diseases, and treatment.
That opened a very wide, and very important door. I learned about the power of natural healing principles such as:
- The healing power of nature and the body’s inherent ability to establish, maintain and restore health.
- Identifying and treating the cause instead of the symptoms.
- Treating the person as a whole, considering the complex interaction of physical, mental, spiritual, emotional, and other factors.
- Doing no harm to the symptoms which are a part of the natural healing process - without treating the cause.
- Having the physician as a teacher, and building a sensitive interpersonal relationship with the patient.
- And prevention through healthy lifestyle and eating habits so we can build health instead of fighting diseases.
All of these have also led me to the study of ancient ayurvedic healing principles from my 5,000-year-old culture.
Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that:
• There are so many ailments that can be treated with what you already have in your kitchen.
• Most conventional medicine focuses heavily on treating the symptoms and not the causes.
• Many of North America’s most common chronic ailments (e.g. diabetes, hypertension) can be prevented and managed naturally.
• Yet, there are no standard curricula for holistic, natural health.
It made me angry – both for my loved ones and for all the other people around me.
I felt like I was robbed of the opportunities to save my loved ones.
I felt like I could have helped them establish, maintain, and even regain their health if only this information were easily available to us.
I felt like I could have done something.
But instead of focusing on what I can’t change, I decided to focus on something that I can.
I didn’t want to see other people suffering and their families mourning for them.
So I decided to put together health protocols for ailing friends and family and saw the huge positive impact it had on their lives. I was ecstatic!
There are hundreds of thousands of books, articles, courses, videos, and other resources sharing information AND misinformation about natural healing and ayurvedic medicine. Without proper guidance and dedication to seek the truth, it’s easy to get lost and be left not an inch better than when you started.
But after grueling years of research and guidance from experts from different parts of the world…
